I just adore the holidays.  Spending time with family, decorating, and of course all the wonderful meals.  I love to cook, and Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter meals have a special place in my heart.  I absolutely love cooking huge meals for a bunch of people.  I know many people find it stressful and exhausting, but I find it to be truly gratifying.  I like to make everything from scratch, so I am usually up before the sun cooking and preparing everything.

Currently, I only have one oven.  I’m hoping this will change in the near future, but for now I have to deal with it.  Because there’s only one oven, I have to strategically plan out my cooking schedule for the day.  For Thanksgiving, it of course means trying to plan out everything around the turkey!  I also try to do as much meal prep as I can the day before, that way everything is ready for me once I get started.  And of course, if anything can be made the day before it’s a huge help.

Here’s what is on my menu for Thanksgiving this year:

Roasted Butternut Squash & Apple Bisque

Green Bean Casserole

Sweet Potato Soufle

Garlic & Parmesan Mashed Potatoes

Gourmet Onions

Mac ‘n Cheese

Glazed Carrots

Sausage & Herb Stuffing

Cranberry Sauce

Dinner Rolls

Thanksgiving Turkey

And for dessert this year I’m going to use my Breville Mini Pie Maker to make an assortment of pumpkin, apple, and other fruit pies.  I thought it would be fun for people to have several little mini slices of pie to instead of a large slice of one or two.  Hopefully it goes as well as I’m picturing it in my mind Image may be NSFW.

So, that’s what’s on my menu this year!  What is on yours?
